Chief minister of Ahasuerus (Xerxes) who obtained a decree to destroy the Jews (Esth 3); hanged on the gallows he prepared for Mordecai (Esth 7). Whether "Agagite" means descent from the Amalekite king Agag is disputed (Keil: possible, unprovable).
